Who We Are

The Office of the Agency Director (OAD) provides leadership and strategic oversight for the Alameda County Social Services Agency (ACSSA).  As the central coordinating body, the OAD ensures that the Agency's programs and services align with county priorities and community needs.  OAD is responsible for guiding policy development, fostering interdepartmental collaboration, and promoting operational excellence across the agency:  Department of Adult and Aging Services (AAS), Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Department of Workforce and Benefits Administration (WBA), and Department of Agency Administration and Finance (AAF).  

Committed to equity, responsiveness, and innovation, the OAD chapions initiatives that enhance service delivery, strengthen community partnerships, and support a dedicated and highly skilled workforce.  Through visionary leadership and a focus on continuous improvement, the office plays a vital role in advanving the ACSSA's misstion to provide essential support, helping individuals, families, and communities meet basic needs in times of challenge and move forward with stability, dignity, and purpose.

Divisions

  • Alameda County Workforce Development Board (ACWDB)

    Provides employers and job seekers with universal access to tools, resources, and services that assist with obtaining employment and business goals.

  • Information Services & Program Integrity Division (ISPID)

    Provides Agency staff the tools and support needed to navigate a client's respective case management system(s) and is responsible for the implementation of new technology systems and services as well as the maintenance and operations of existing systems.  Ensures that clients receive all benefits to which they are entitled while enhancing the integrity of SSA's programs.

Offices

  • Office of Data and Evaluation

    Creates, develops, and produces agencywide data reports and  program evaluations that inform and aid in decision making for the Agency.

  • Office of Policy, Strategy & Innovation

    Provides fund development, legislative and budget analysis, and decision-making support resources for the Agency.

  • Immigrant Relations

    Provides education and resources regarding the issues, needs, and contributions of immigrants.

  • Child Care

    Provides child care subsidies for children 0 to 12 years of age and are made available to eligible families on a time-limited basis.
