Tax Services

No-Cost Tax Preparation Services for Eligible Families and Individuals

Tax Services Provided by IRS-Certified Alameda County Volunteers

Since 2002, the Alameda County Social Services Agency has partnered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and United Way Bay Area’s Free Tax Help Program to serve as a local VITA partner, providing free tax preparation services to Alameda County residents and helping eligible taxpayers claim valuable credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

Our IRS-certified volunteers offer flexible tax preparation options, including document drop-off/pick-up and in-person appointments, to make filing your taxes as easy as possible.

Get your refund in as little as 7–10 business days with direct deposit to your checking, savings, or no-fee prepaid CFR FOCUS Card.

It's your money — don't leave it on the table!
